About Us

Set on 12 acres of farmland with scenic views, Alpine Farmstay Apartments is located in Boorolite near Merrijig. We are a 20 minute drive to the base of Mt Buller and Mt Stirling or a 15 minute drive into the nearest town of Mansfield (situated approximately 2 hours north-east of Melbourne). The Delatite River, with its popular fishing spots and summer swimming holes, is located nearby (10 minute stroll or a minute’s drive along a country lane).

Our Guests

We offer the perfect family-friendly farmstay experience for families with kids or visitors wishing to explore the area. Some of our guests have connections with Timbertop Geelong Grammar School and find our close proximity to the school convenient to attend school functions. Others travel for business and enjoy the peace and tranquility.  Winter visitors enjoy an earthy farm experience and the thrill of snow sports on Mount Buller or Mount Stirling, all in one holiday!

The Accommodation

Alpine Farmstay Apartments is off-mountain accommodation suitable for those seeking tranquility and country fresh air. Our farmstay accommodation is a converted farmhouse styled into 3 self-contained apartments. Upon your arrival you will be greeted by hosts, Beattie & Roger and shown to your apartment. Enjoy a complimentary welcome basket with coffee, tea, milk, cereal and juice.

Apartment 1 is a stylish loft apartment split on two levels with a cosy deck overlooking mountain views. The apartment has a separate entrance with private aspect, a cosy deck with bbq, overlooking paddocks and serene mountain views and its own outdoor seating area with campfire. Apartment 2 is contemporary style Studio accommodation with 1 queen bed and 2 single beds (bunk). This self-contained apartment has a large combined living and sleeping area, a separate kitchen and modern bathroom. The Surroundings

Nestled amongst lush, peaceful gardens, the property overlooks a rocked-walled private dam, encircled by trees and plants. Livestock includes a small herd of sheep, alpacas, chickens, miniature goats and a pet pig.

The accommodation is well suited for families with children who will love to play on the swing set, feed the farm animals (under supervision) and collect fresh eggs from the chicken enclosure. Alpine Farmstay Apartments is a family-run business. We welcome other families and travellers to explore the grounds and enjoy a break from city life.

An Abundance of Wild Native Birds

If you are a bird lover, then you will be amazed by the variety of native birds. Strolling along the tranquil grounds you will spot a variety of native birds including King Parrots, Rainbow Lorikeets, Blue Wrens, Kookaburras, Sulphur-crested and Black Cockatoos, Crested Pigeons, Robins and Honeyeaters amongst others.

Our Location

Alpine Farmstay Apartments is perfectly centrally located at just 20 minutes drive to the Mt Buller toll gates or 15 minutes to the nearest town of Mansfield. We are located in the heart of the High Country, just over two hours drive north-east of Melbourne.

Nearby Attractions

There are many nearby attractions including horse riding, wineries, 4WD tours, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, mountain biking, sightseeing, Mansfield Zoo, High Country Maze, cinema, gift shops, gourmet cafes and restaurants, historical tours and more. There are also numerous popular summer swimming holes and riverside picnic areas nearby. Mt Buller and Mt Stirling (where Craig’s Hut – from the movie The Man from Snower River – is located) are a short drive away.

Important Notes

  • There is an unfenced dam on the property and for safety reasons children must be strictly supervised at all times when on the grounds. Please do not allow children to chase farm animals.
  • There is electric fencing in some parts of the property. There are warning signs and a cut-off switch. Children must be kept clear of electric fencing or switch turned to the off position.
  • Apartment 1 has an internal staircase for which safety gates can be provided.
  • Pets not permitted.
